Alternative House- The Abused and Homeless Children -$1,500 – a grant to support outings and field trips to their young people in order to provide them with special opportunities to attend cultural, educational and recreational events and activities they would not otherwise experience.
Alzheimer's Family Day Care - $1,100 – a grant to support their personal and medical care supplies for their demential-specific adult day health care program which serves 25-30 people per day at two levels of care: Level II provides services for individuals in the mild to moderate stages of Alzheimer’s-type illness and Level III is designed for participats with advanced dementia who need physical assistance with mobitliy and/or more than one activity of daily living (i.e. eating and drinking, grooming, personal care and perineal care).
Classika –Synetic Theatre - $1,500 – a grant to support their outreach program LITarts for the 2005-2006 school year. This program is an innovative reading program that utilizes dramatic arts to assist first and second grade students who are struggling with literacy skills, and who are unable to read.
Hogar Hispano ESL Program/Catholic Charities - $1,500 – a grant to support ongoing efforts of the Hogar Hispano’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program and computer instruction to adult immigrants and refugees throughout Northern Virginia.
Joy of Sports Foundation - $1,500 – a grant to support their Ramsay Tennis Plus and Fairfax County Community Center Tennis Plus programming. The year-long programs for at-risk and disadvantaged Northern Virginia children ages 8-11 includes life skill focus and learning through tennis instruction.
Paws 4 People Foundation - $1,500 – a grant to support the general maintenance of the 24 paws4people certified therapy Golden Retrievers to support their services in Loudoun County schools (special education and regular education classrooms), nursing/retirement homes, Hospice facilities and private residences.
Resurrection Children's Center #2 - $1,400 – a grant to support the completion of the editing process of the film project Children Are More Alike Than Different.
Samaritan Ministry - $1,000 – a grant to support the organization’s efforts serving homeless and low income people in Fairfax County with the next steps to creating lifelong success. Includes efforts to write resumes, do job searches, medical care, business attire and encouragement.
Winne the Pooh Cooperative Preschool - $1,500 – a grant to support a music program for their preschool. The funds would be used to purchase musical instruments for preschoolers use as well as employ a bi-weekly music instructor.
