NVCF Hosts For the Love of Loudoun Arts, Showcasing the Region’s Premiere Performing Arts Groups and Benefiting Loudoun County Nonprofits
Several of the region’s performing arts groups are coming together in a first-of-its-kind showcase, For the Love of Loudoun Arts, a Northern Virginia Community Foundation fundraising event for Loudoun County nonprofits. The event will feature performances from The Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, Loudoun Ballet Company, Loudoun Lyric Opera and several other groups, including youth choral and instrumental groups.
“If you haven’t had a chance to see all these groups, you will be amazed at the level of talent they each exhibit” says Judy Craun, Vice President at NVCF. “We will showcase both the professional groups and the next generation of talent from Loudoun County High Schools. There is a tremendous amount of young talent in our community, and I know we will all enjoy seeing their work alongside our premier professional musicians.”
“There are several reasons for NVCF to showcase the arts in Loudoun,” says Craun. “Art plays an important role in the culture of Loudoun County. It has tremendous social impact in that the best way to reach people is often through the arts. It is also a fun and inspiring way to introduce people to the work of NVCF in our community.”
All net proceeds of the event will be distributed to Loudoun County nonprofits for arts education and child development. There will be arts and crafts workshops and snacks for the kids, while the grown ups are tasting delicious sandwiches and desserts which is included in the $30 ticket price, kids under 12 are free. A cash bar featuring signature drinks such as Mint Juleps and Mimosas will be available along with gourmet teas and coffees.
Craun also notes the timing of For the Love of Loudoun Arts. “Since it’s the day before Mother’s Day, it makes a great early gift for mom,” she says. “But we will have something for everyone. It is going to be an exciting, fun afternoon, and anyone who enjoys the arts will have a wonderful time.”
